What comes with you
Everything from HomeGauge
- Past inspections from HomeGauge's Business Report: the client, the property, the fee as a home inspection service, the referral source, the report number and whether it was paid
- Your agents from the Real Estate Pros contact export, with their brokerage
- Your clients from the Buyers/Sellers contact export, matched to their inspections by name
- Your report template: start from iSpector's residential template or have iSpector draft one from your standards or an old report
How it works
An afternoon, start to finish
- 1
Export from HomeGauge
In the Desktop Report Writer, export the Business Report (Office → Business Report). On the Inspector Dashboard, download your Real Estate Pros and Buyers/Sellers contacts.
- 2
Upload and check
In iSpector, open Settings → Import your data and choose HomeGauge. Upload the files together, check the column matching and preview the import before anything is saved.
- 3
Set up your template
HomeGauge templates use a format HomeGauge doesn't publish, so start from iSpector's residential template, or upload your standards or an old report and iSpector drafts a template for you to review.
- 4
Go live when you're ready
Imported clients get no automated messages until you switch over. Re-run with fresh exports on your last day without making duplicates.
- The Business Report covers the reports stored on that computer: export it from each computer you used.
- Undo the whole import for 7 days.
- iSpector runs in the browser on Mac, Windows and Chromebook, and in the inspector app.
We'll do it for you
Send us your HomeGauge exports and we'll run the import with you, check it, and have you ready to go live.
Our promise
iSpector never markets other companies' services to your clients
Some inspection software places third-party offers in front of the home buyers you inspect for. iSpector doesn't, on any plan.
No partner offers in your reports
Your reports, portals, emails and texts never carry insurance, warranty, security, utility or moving offers from other companies.
Your clients are your clients
We don't sell your clients' or agents' details, and we don't use them for our own purposes (see our privacy policy).
Only what you choose to offer
Add-ons, follow-ups and campaigns are your own services, sent only when you set them up.
Two things you may see: client pages show a small "Powered by iSpector" line, and if you switch on pay over time in Settings, invoices name the payment options you chose (Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay). iSpector takes no fee on either.
Switching from HomeGauge
Something else on your mind? Ask us and a person will answer.
Is there a HomeGauge importer?
Yes. Choose HomeGauge in Settings → Import your data. HomeGauge doesn't publish its export columns, so check the column matching in the preview; we're glad to check it with you.
Does my HomeGauge template come over?
Not automatically: HomeGauge's template files use an unpublished format. iSpector can draft a template from your standards of practice or an old report for you to review.
Can you do it for me?
Yes. Send us your exports and we'll run the import with you and check it before you go live.
